So first is that there are splitting our MISSION!!! Should be something about it in the church news president said. They are taking the tempe and mesa missions and making a tempe, mesa, scottsdale, and gilbert mission. Double the freshenss, double the fun! Craziness:D It is such a fun time to be on a mission over here!
Well I am in Mesa, CALLED IT! ha. I am training Hermana Anderson, she is from michigan, and she is awesome! I really miss queen creek, but I love mesa. Would you believe that my first day here it was raining during the day?! Well, I am super lucky, what can I say :D But it gets better. Well here in arizona it never snows right? Wrong! That night there was a huge storm that came through with lots of hail and a little bit of snow too. Where am I again? the hottest state? I don't think so. Haha, I thought it was a little ironic being my first day in only a bike area. but I really do love it! There are so many people that we get to talk to on the streets here! It is sweet!
I want to share one cool story with you. Well mesa is doing pretty good investigator wise, we have quite a few. We were going around meeting people and we had dinner with one of the families we are teaching, M and F. Well, for dinner, I prayed extra hard over the food. We had ground up beef liver and intestines formed around a hard boiled egg, boiled in broth and served with potatoes. It was quite interesting. But we ate it and felt sick the rest of day. Haha. We had a super good lesson with them about eternal families. Committed them to come to church and to be baptized on the 23rd of March...looks like we are going to have a wedding soon! They came to church yesterday with 3 of their grand kids, it was the best day ever.
Since being here in Mesa, and being with a new companion, I have grown and stretched myself so much. Heavenly Father has helped me learn a lot this week. The biggest miracle of all is that with all of the conversations that I have had in spanish, I have understood every word and have been able to say the things that I needed to. It is so amazing to see really the gift of tongues come alive. I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for the blessings I have seen on my mission, and for helping me learn spanish. He never ceases to amaze me:)
Well I have got to run, but want to share something for you to think about. This came to my mind the other day, and I super duper like it. I was thinking about the scripture that says, be ye therefore perfect. I was thinking about all of the imperfections that I have and what I can do to be better. Well this was my thought. Perfection is giving our gift of agency back to our Father in Heaven. When our will truely alines with His, that is where perfection comes from. And looking at the life of our Savior, that really is the case.
